Busy day today at the Greensboro Sportsplex, the site of the girls/womens basketball showcase/tournament, “The Gate City Classic”…..There were hundreds of people icluding players, coaches, parents, family and loads of college coaches on hand to check out the talent….
Plenty of talent to be seen and there were hundreds of cars parked in the Sportsplex parking lot and in the makeshift lot up on top of the hill….You could see cars with Maryland Eastern Shore stickers, N.C. A&T, UNCG, WSSU(and they just changed coaches over there), HPU, NCCU, Wake Forest, Greensboro College, JC Smith, Catawba, Lenior Rhyne and many more, many coming in from out of state, to check out the girls/womens basketball tournament, ‘The Gate City Classic’…….
They will pretty much all be there again on Saturday, as the finals are set to kick-in sometime in the afternoon and they should be handing out the Champions’ Trophy at around 6pm…..
Delaney Rudd and his Phoenix Basketball staff, at the North Carolina Basketball Academy and Dresms in Motion, have come up with another outstanding event at the Greensboro Sportsplex on 16th Street, just off of East Cone Blvd., at Highway 29 North……….
