The USA Diving Nationals inside the Greensboro Aquatics Center, at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex and FOX 8 NEWS and WXII TV 12 are on board or should we say on the diving board, with the Ultimate Air Dive team and our local entry Emma McPeeters and we have an update on the event from Emma’s dad Mac McPeeters…Mac is on the attack and it is not a shark attack, since this event is being held indoors, but you can dive in and enjoy all of the info on the USA Diving Nationals, as we follow the event at the GAC along with MAC…..Here now is MAC at the GAC…..
What a fantastic start for Emma in the first day of USA Age Nationals here at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Prelims in the morning, top 12 advance to the finals, Emma placed a solid 4th in 1 meter springboard and moved on to the finals. For finals, the last 2 dives from prelims are dropped and must be repeated for finals to determine the divers outcome. Again, Emma placed a solid 4th out of 12 divers and represented UADiving and Greensboro well!!!!!!! Just to have a perspective of what this 4th place finish means, the pool for prelims draws divers from 6 different Zone qualifiers, which Emma competed in Indianapolis 3 weeks ago. This pool of divers constituted 31 divers competing in Emma’s age group. This pool was trimmed down to 12 divers after prelims of which Emma finished 4th, quite accomplishment!!!!!
Thanks to the efforts of Andy and others to draw attention to Emma and the UA Dive
team, Emma, the UA Dive Team and the USA Nationals have draw the attention of local
network coverage. Emma was featured by WGHP Fox 8 morning show by Shannon Smith on
Monday morning live at Greensboro Aquatic Center, and WXII 12 filmed her finals
competition last night with an interview afterward that aired during the 11 o’clock
news!!!!!! A huge thanks for all the support!!!! More action today as prelims take
place at 1:30 for her next competition, platform.
