About the MacKay Foundation for Cancer Research
The MacKay Foundation for Cancer Research was established in December, 2003 after gifting $500,000 to WFUSM through the annual Bob MacKay Memorial and other fundraising events. The foundation holds events benefiting cancer research and education at WFU School of Medicine, Section on Hematology and Oncology. Their mission statement states, “It is our sincere desire to make a difference in the lives of our family, friends and coworkers who have been touched by cancer.” The MacKay Foundation for Cancer Research is grateful to corporate sponsors, major donors, golfers, attendees and volunteers for their continued support and encouragement. It is through gifts of time, participation and generosity of our sponsors and donors that $1 million has been gifted to benefit cancer research and education at WF School of Medicine.
