Greensboro Men’s Soccer Picked Sixth in USA South Preseason Poll

The Pride men’s soccer team will enter the preseason ranked sixth in the USA South poll, as voted upon by the coaches. Greensboro finished the 2011 campaign with a record of 4-7-5 and will begin year two under head coach John Trice. The Pride received 31 total votes while defending champion Christopher Newport was selected first with 64 votes.

Greensboro welcomes back six players with major starting experience. Headlining the group is First Team All-Conference and Third Team All-Region defender Logan Paussa. Also returning is the majority of the midfield and goalkeeper Woody Wilder.

The Pride can also expect intense competition in fall camp, with 13 newcomers joining the fray. Greensboro is scheduled to open the regular season with a 7 p.m. contest with cross-town rival Guilford on August 31.
