College Women’s Soccer Final – Washington and Lee 6, Guilford 0

LEXINGTON, Va. – Katharine Rush scored two goals and an assist in Washington and Lee University’s 6-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win over visiting Guilford College Tuesday.

The Generals (12-2-1, 8-1-1 ODAC) are ranked ninth in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire Division III South Atlantic Region Poll.

Rush set up Katie Rossi’s goal three minutes into the match, which spotted the hosts to an early 1-0 lead. Rossi returned the favor just under 10 minutes later with a pass to Rush, who doubled Washington and Lee’s advantage. Rush netted the game’s third goal a couple minutes into the second half off an Emily Scott assist.

Washington and Lee held a 37-4 edge in shots and had all seven of the game’s corner kicks. Addie Healy and Kingsley Schroeder shared goaltending duties and the shutout.

Guilford goalie Miriam Davis-Rosenbaum made a career-high 14 saves in the match, the most by a Quakers’ netminder since 2009.

The Quakers are back in action Saturday (10/20) at league-rival Sweet Briar College.
