The Greesnboro College women’s basketball team held a Midnight Madness practice on Sunday night to kick off the new season. Nearly 80 fans filed into Hanes Gym to take in the festivities of the midnight practice.
In addition to catching a first glimpse of the 2012-13 Pride, fans took part in contests for a chance to win Greensboro College women’s basketball travel gear.
“It was a good event and we had a great turnout,” said head coach Randy Tuggle. “As far as the team, I saw some good things and bad things for a first practice. I am excited about the season and what we have and hope to compete for a conference championship.”
The Pride are coming off a 22-5 season that included a share of the USA South regular season championship. Greensboro will open the 2012-13 campaign on November 15 at cross town rival Guilford.
