College Volleyball Final – Virginia Wesleyan 3, Guilford 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kerry Johnson and Tempe Martens shared match-high kills honors with nine apiece to help Virginia Wesleyan College past Guilford College Friday night, 25-16, 25-17, 25-13, in the Ragan-Brown Field House. The Generals improved to 18-6 (7-2 ODAC) with the win.

Johnson sported an impressive .667 hitting average. Setter Krista Sessoms tallied a match-high 17 assists and four digs defensively. Kala Guy added match-highs in service aces (3) and digs (8). She also added four kills. Taylor Allen tallied six kills on .462 hitting and had four blocks, two solo.

Kelsey Ruehling posted a team-high seven kills for the Quakers (9-14, 3-6 ODAC). Malikah French added four kills. Meredith Foscue contributed five digs in the contest. Taylor Whitley tallied 14 assists.

Guilford plays league-rival Randolph-Macon College Saturday (10/20) at 12:00 p.m. in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
