Elon Men’s Soccer Draw Coastal Carolina in the Opening Round of NCAA Tournament

ELON, N.C. – The Elon men’s soccer team will play a familiar foe in its opening round matchup in the NCAA Tournament, as the Phoenix heads to Conway, S.C., to face Coastal Carolina (18-2-2) on Thursday, Nov. 15. Elon (15-4-2) will travel to Coastal for the third time in two seasons to play the Chanticleers with kick scheduled for 7 p.m.

The contest will be a rematch of last year’s opening round game for both teams in the NCAA Tournament. Coastal Carolina came away with the win, 4-3, over the Phoenix in Elon’s first ever game in the national tournament. The two squads met earlier in the year on as the Chanticleers came away with a 2-1 victory.

Tickets for the NCAA First Round are available by calling the CCU Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-347-8499. Ticket prices are set for $7 for adults and $5 for youth (high school age and below) and students with a valid ID. All tickets are general admission, bleachers are first come, first serve.

The Phoenix earned the Southern Conference’s automatic bid after winning the league tournament championship on Saturday against Wofford. The win gave Elon both the SoCon regular season outright and tournament crown for the first time in school history.
