Greensboro College Women’s Basketball Breezes by Mid-Atlantic Christian in Home Opener

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — Bianca Richburg recorded her third consecutive double-double, scoring a game high 28 points to go along with 14 rebounds as The Pride women’s basketball team earned a 102-44 win.
Greensboro had the hot hand early, taking a 11-0 lead right out of the gate. The Pride pushed the advantage to 18-2 before the Mustangs found the board again with a three with 12:06 on the clock.

The margin hit 20 points at 34-14 following a lay-up by Amber Hair as Greensboro cruised comfortably into the break with a 45-20 lead.

The Pride continued to pad the advantage, expanding the lead to as many as 60 points in the second half before closing the game out with a 102-44 victory.

Also contributing in double figures for Greensboro were Hair with 19 and Jena Cabe with 13. Michelle Whipple added seven points while Chevena Pickard chipped in with seven. Pickard also helped the rebounding effort with a 11 boards for the night.

As a team, The Pride shot 43% from the field and limited Mid-Atlantic Christian to 27% shooting. Greensboro also held a 71-37 advantage in rebounds with 34 coming on the offensive end. The Pride also forced 29 total turnovers for the game.

Greensboro is now 2-2 on the year. The Pride’s next scheduled game is Saturday at Averett. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
