One of Guilford County’s top high school football players ever, is leaving college early for the National Football League….Keenan Allen, who was a top player at Grimsley and then later on at Northern Guilford, has first-round talent at wide receiver and he is taking that talent to the next level, as he heads to the NFL….I saw Allen take a kickoff back 95 yards in a game for Grimsley in his freshman year in high school and it was obvious at tha time, this kid had unlimited talent and it was just a matter of time, before he was going to start getting paid to play on Sunday…..Allen was a receiver, defensive back, wildcat QB, KR, PR and he did a few other odd jobs too, while with the Nighthawks at Northern Guilford….
He should do fine in the pros and all of his projections are listed below from ESPN.com…..

Allen said in an announcement through the school on Wednesday that he is grateful for his time at Cal and feels ready to take the next step to the NFL.
The 6-foot-3 Allen is the 24th overall player on ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.’s Big Board, and the only wide receiver on the 25-man mock draft.
Allen finishes his career as the school’s all-time leader with 205 receptions. He ranks third with 2,570 yards receiving and seventh with 17 touchdown catches.
Allen’s best season came as a sophomore when he had 98 receptions for 1,343 yards and six touchdowns. He had 61 catches for 737 yards and six TDs this season before missing the final three games with a left knee injury……
