Elon¹s Thomas Named to Top Drawer Soccer¹s Team of the Season

ELON, N.C. – Elon men’s soccer senior forward Chris Thomas was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Team of the Season third team as announced by topdrawersoccer.com on Thursday, Dec. 6.

Thomas, who was recently a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy, helped the Phoenix to a 15-5-2 overall record this season as he led the nation with 23 goals and 51 total points. The striker from Snellville, Ga., was named the Southern Conference Player of the Year the second time in his career and earned first-team All-SoCon honors.

Thomas also received national attention throughout the year as he earned the Disney Soccer/NSCAA and College Soccer News Player of the Week and received a spot on the CSN National Team of the Week.

Last month, Top Drawer Soccer predicted Thomas as a top 10 pick in its mock draft for the upcoming MLS Superdraft in January.

The Phoenix returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 after capturing the SoCon regular-season and tournament crown for the first time in school history. Thomas, who had game-winners versus Davidson and Georgia Southern in the league championships, was named to the SoCon All-Tournament Team.
