You know those contests, where you take a half-court shot for some prize. Most people are barely able to hit the backboard, much less the goal.
On Saturday, January 11, 2013, the Jazz were playing the Hawks in Atlanta, when one lucky season ticket holder was given a chance for $1,000 with a half-court shot.
He gets, the ball, takes a few steps and tosses it to the basket. It hits squarely in the point where the goal and backboard meet. The ball compressed upon the hit and stuck as it expanded – locking it in place on the TOP of the goal.
The court announcer jumps to dislodge the ball, pulling the net. The ball falls through. Did it count????
YES, the judges say YES!!!
