HP Central (9-8, 3-2) 4 11 14 17 – 46

After two weeks off because of a scheduling open date, exam break and a weather cancellation, Ragsdale finally took the court at home to resume the season with High Point Central providing the opposition. The one problem was someone forgot to tell the Bison that the season was resuming. They did not score a field goal until 19 seconds were left in the first quarter and by that time they had fallen behind by 15 – 1. The three point basket made the score at the end of the first 15 – 4 and Ragsdale would maintain a comfortable working margin for the remainder of the game.

High Point Central got to within nine points on the opening basket of the second quarter and again midway through the second but would never cut the deficit to single digits for the rest of the game. Ragsdale would end the half up by 13 at 28 – 15 as center Jarrett Holland would score 8 points in the second quarter on strong inside play.

The third quarter turned into a foul shooting contest as Ragsdale went 9 of 14 from the line while Central connected on 5 of 9 from the charity stripe as the Tigers outscored the Bison 15 to 14. Central was never able to get closer than 13 points in the fourth quarter as Ragsdale emptied their bench in the final minutes before going on to wrap up the 62 – 46 win.

Ragsdale had four players in double figures led by Jarrett Holland who had 14 points and 8 rebounds with all of his baskets coming on hard drives around the rim. Joe Bryant chipped in with 13 points and James Stepp had 12, while Daniel Kanakanui scored 10 and had 7 rebounds.

Central was led by Ahmad Langham with 16 points and Kevin Green with 10.

Ragsdale Lady Tigers picked up a win to move to 2 – 3 in Piedmont Triad Conference play while the High Point Central Lady Bisons remained with no wins falling to 0 – 5. Ragsdale scored the first eight points of the game and were up by a 15 – 3 score after one quarter. They expanded the 12 point margin to 20 at halftime. The second half was just a case of trying to get through the final 16 minutes as the Bison failed to score one second half point, while Ragsdale substituted liberally and scored 13 to wrap up the 40 – 7 victory.

Ragsdale was led by Mikayla Pettyjohn who had 17 points with 11 of them coming in the first quarter. Pettyjohn also had 10 steals on the night with many of the steals resulting in an easy basket on the other end. Kierra Currie accounted for all sever of the Lady Bison points.
