College Indoor Track & Field Results – Guilford Competes in Day One of the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational

GREENSBORO, NC – Guilford College Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field competed in day one of the two-day Hilton Garden Inn Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. A largely NCAA Division I field also featured NCAA Division II and III schools from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.

Junior C.J. Green (7.38 seconds) narrowly edged teammate Nick Mearite (High Point, N.C./Ragsdale) (7.39 seconds) for the best Guilford time in the 60 meter dash. Mearite’s mark was his season-best by .03 seconds.

Senior Josh Farrar (Greensboro, N.C./Nowrthwest Guilford) (54.15 seconds) led Guilford in the 400 meters, missing his season-best time, but just .34 seconds.

Junior Alex Smith (Pinnacle, N.C./West Stokes) (12.8 meters) placed second in his flight in the triple jump, missing the flight lead by just .2 meters. Smith’s other two jumps (12.78, 12.76 meters) were within .04 meters of his best mark.

Jennifer Thomas (8.83 seconds) narrowly missed her own school record by .03 seconds in the women’s 60 meter dash.

Rachel Flint (1:10.18) closed in on the 400 meter season-best, missing by 1.3 seconds. Flint’s mark was also 1.47 seconds off the school record.

Guilford continues action at the JDL Fast Track tomorrow in the final day of the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational.
