THE LAST MEETING: A physical battle between the Phoenix and Terriers ended in Elon’s favor on Jan. 19 inside Alumni Gym, as the maroon and gold claimed a 68-61 win. Trailing by three with 4:31 remaining in the game, Elon caught fire and went on a 13-3 run down the stretch to secure the win over Wofford. Jack Isenbarger led Elon with 17 points.

TROUTMAN HONORED: Lucas Troutman was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 5 after leading Elon to a pair of wins last week against UNC Greensboro and Samford to extent its lead in the North Division. Troutman averaged 22.5 points per game to go along with 8.0 rebounds and 4.5 blocks over the two-game stretch. Troutman reached the 1,000-point mark for his career against Samford, finishing the game with 26 points, tying a career-high mark set exactly one year to the day.

BLOCK PARTY: Lucas Troutman needs three blocks to set Elon’s all-time record currently held by Eric Hairston. Troutman currently has 140 career blocks in his career after tallying six against Samford on Feb. 2.

WINNING WAYS: Elon’s seven-game winning streak is one shy of tying the longest since the 2005-06 season, which is also the program’s longest at the Division I level. Elon’s 15 victories match last year’s total, as the team is one win shy recording the most wins in a single season at the Division I level. The last Elon team to win more than 15 games in a single season was the 1996-97 squad that finished 16-14. The most wins in a single season by an Elon team are 25, which has been done by three teams (1951-52, 1952-53, 1955-56) in program history. The longest winning streak in program history is 14 games (1939-40).

LOOKING BACK: Elon claimed a 77-66 win over Samford in its last game on Feb. 2, as Lucas Troutman poured in a game-high 26 points and tied a career-high mark. The big man from Belton, S.C., also hauled down 10 boards registered six blocked shots. Elon shot 49 percent from the field and turned the ball over just eight times – tying the second lowest total in a game this season.

LOOKING AHEAD: Following Thursday’s game at Wofford, Elon remains in South Carolina for a Saturday afternoon tilt at Furman. Tip is set for 4 p.m. at Timmons Arena.
