HPU’s Jordan Named Big South Defender of the Week

Junior midfielder Jasmine Jordan (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Technical) has been named Big South Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Jordan tallied six ground balls, six caused turnovers and two draw controls as High Point split two games last week.

In Sunday’s 13-11 road win over American University, Jordan posted five ground balls, five caused turnovers and a draw control. Two days prior at Navy, Jordan had a ground ball, a draw control and a caused turnover.

On the season, Jordan is leading High Point with 14 ground balls and nine caused turnovers in four games. She also has six draw controls.

High Point is 2-2 on the season and heads west to play a pair of road games next weekend. The Panthers travel to Eugene, Oregon, to take on the Ducks on Saturday at 8 p.m. (Eastern). HPU then goes to Denver to play the Pioneers on Monday at 3 p.m. (Eastern).
