The sophomore finished as the runner-up in the event after breaking her previous program-best mark of 137’0” (41.76m) that was set over a year ago. Holt broke into the top-five on the program’s all-time performance list with a mark of 114’6” (34.90m) in the javelin and finished sixth.

“The girls did really well today,” said Phoenix head coach Mark Elliston. “It was a good start for them and the team and we’ve set the stage to have some good performances tomorrow.”

Charlise Morgan also finished in the top-10 in the hammer throw with a toss of 149’0” (45.41m), the second-best mark on the program’s all-time outdoor list.

“The way our throwers performed today speaks to their preparation and focus,” said Elliston. “Coach (Michael) Guspeth has done a great job with them throughout the year and they will continue to get better and better from each meet.”

The women’s 4×200 meter relay team of Sydney Griffin, Kayleigh Birks, Jennifer Pash and Bria Bell captured the title after clocking a 1:41.58 in the race, the third fastest time in school history.
