The Pride women’s lacrosse team (0-7 overall) dropped a road match-up with Goucher (5-2 overall) on Tuesday afternoon 17-4.
Greensboro fell behind 2-0 early in the game before Nadya Fedun hooked up with Brittany Ziobro to put The Pride on the board at the 21:15 mark.
The Gophers would turn it up a notch from there, scoring the final seven goals of the half to take a 9-1 lead into the break.
Goucher would control the second half as well, squashing any chance of a Greensboro comeback. The Pride were outscored 8-3 in the second frame with Micaela Sandoval, Amira Khatib and Ziobro each finding net.
Ziobro fired a team best four shots – all on goal – for Greensboro. Kendra Allbritton finished with a team high three ground balls and forced five Gopher turnovers. Kaleigh Hemstock made 14 saves but suffered the loss in goal.
The Pride will have a quick turnaround, with a USA South opening road trip to North Carolina Wesleyan on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
