Grimsley “Whirlies” could use your help:Mascot contest getting tough!(Obezags filling the voting bags)

This is for the Regional competition and the contest is being run by the USA Today and Grimsley defeated Bishop McGuinness for the top Mascot name in the state of North Carolina and after disposing of the Villains, the Whirlies are now facing very stiff competiton in their region, as they look to get in the running for the National Championship and the $2,000.00 for their school’s athletic department that goes with the Title of ‘Top Mascot Name in the Nation’…..

Despite earning more than 24,300 votes as of noon Tuesday, Grimsley trails Key High School (Obezags) by a wide margin.

The Obezags, of Annapolis, Md., had more than 342,400 votes as of noon Tuesday.

Other mascots in Grimsley’s region are the Auks (Archmere Academy of Claymont, Del.), the Flying Flucos (Fluvanna County of Palmyra, Va.), the Mighty Hoppers (Georgetown Day of Washington, D.C.), the Applemen (Musselman of Inwood, W.V.), the Konkrete Kids (Northhampton of Northhampton, Penn.) and the Devildogs (Travelers Rest of Travelers Rest, S.C.).
