College Men’s Lacrosse Final – #8 Lynchburg 25, Guilford 6

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Pat Ohrem scored three goals and an assist in Lynchburg College’s 25-6 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men’s lacrosse win over Guilford College Saturday night.

The Hornets (6-1, 1-0 ODAC), ranked eighth in this week’s United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association NCAA Division III Poll, had 16 different goal scorers in their highest scoring output of the season.

Ohrem had four points along with teammate Campbell Armstrong, who contributed a goal and three assists. Lynchburg’s Aaron Murphy and Austin Stewart netted three goals apiece. Charlie Armstrong and Max Voumard both scored twice and had an assist. Adam Davey, the first of four Hornets’ goalies, had a team-high five ground balls, plus three saves and a caused turnover in 30 minutes of action.

Guilford’s Duncan Fitzgerald paced the Quakers with two goals and an assist. Teammate Connor Manning acquitted himself well in the face-off circle, winning a career-high 14 draws and picking up two ground balls. Sophomore goalie Thomas Deane made his season debut in goal and stopped nine shots in over 36 minutes of work. Classmate Nick Huckins picked up a game-high five ground balls for the Quakers.

The Quakers visit ninth-ranked Washington and Lee University March 23 in a 3:00 p.m. ODAC affair.
