High Point Central rode the strong pitching of starter Hansen Butler, who pitched five shutout innings to a Piedmont Triad victory at Ragsdale on Tuesday. Central broke open a scoreless game in the third inning, scoring 3 runs on two hits, taking advantage of three walks. Trevor Gay drove in the first run with a base hit and Colin Fowler also picked up an RBI with a single. The third run scored on a balk with a man on third. Central added two more in the fifth and a single run in the sixth to record the 6 – 1 victory.
Next up for Ragsdale is a Piedmont Triad Conference game at home on Thursday against Parkland with a scheduled 7:00 PM start. High Point Central will be at Dudley on Wednesday with the first pitch at 6:00 PM.
