GC Men’s Golf Finishes in Tie for 11th at Emory Spring Invitational

The Pride men’s golf team moved up one spot to finish the two-day Emory Spring Invitational in a tie for 11th among 15 teams. Greensboro dropped nine strokes from its day one score, finishing with a two-day total of 613 (311-302).

Scott Novicki (77-76) and Gregory Pappas (77-76) shot identical 36-hole scores of 153 on the par-72, 6,860 yard Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, GA. Both Novicki and Pappas tied for 39th overall in the individual standings.

Nick Peoples finished both days at 78 to finish 56th overall at 156. John Grimes totaled two 79’s for a card of 158. Chris Cox improved 15 strokes from his first day total to shoot a team best, even-par round of 72, with an overall score of 159.

As a team, The Pride fired 11 birdies on Tuesday. Novicki, Pappas, Grimes and Peoples had two apiece, with Cox adding a team high three.

Oglethorpe took home the team title with a score of 571 (287-284). Anthony Maccaglia of Oglethorpe won the individual championship at 138 (71-67).

Next up for Greensboro is the USA South Conference championship on April 12-14 in Rocky Mount, NC.
