Elon Track & Field Phoenix Complete Day One at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. – Suzanne Martin threw a new school-record in the javelin throw as the Elon track and field team completed day one of competition at the Duke Invitational on Friday, April 5. Martin had a toss of 138’11” (42.35m), breaking her own school mark and finishing as the runner-up.

Kimberlyn Holt finished third overall in the hammer throw with a toss of 170’9” (52.06m) while Charlise Morgan stood just outside of the top-10 with a heave of 146’0” (44.50m).

In the 1,500-meter developmental race, Christine Pacewicz crossed the line in sixth place after clocking a time of 4:49.10. Allyson Oram was the Phoenix’s top finisher in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:42.42 and in 25th place.

Veronica Luedke clocked a time of 1:03.72 in the 400-meter hurdles and finished seventh overall.

The maroon and gold will conclude the meet tomorrow with the first event, the women’s long jump, kicking off the day at 9 a.m.
