(8 innings)

WP – Tim Ambrose (5-2) 8 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 W, 13 K’s
LP – Eric Corleit 3.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 W, 4 K’s

Key Players: Ragsdale – Duncan Sparks: 2 for 3, 2B, 2 Runs; Colin Lipke: 1 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI’s, run; 2 for 4. East Forsyth – David Watts: 3 for 4, 2B, run; Matt Freeman: 1 for 3, 2 RBI’s, run

The first four East Forsyth players who came to the plate in the top of the first ended up scoring as 2 hit batters and two singles combined with a Ragsdale error and a sac fly gave the Eagles a 4 – 0 lead. With Ragsdale starter Tim Ambrose seemingly on the ropes and the Tigers unable to score in the first three innings, East Forsyth was in command. But, Ambrose “righted the ship”. After working out of jams in the third and the fourth, stranding two runners in both innings; Ambrose found his rhythm and struck out seven consecutive batters and got a total of 11 strike outs over the last four innings. Keeping the Eagles off the board, Ragsdale started their rally in the bottom of the fourth. A one out single by Matt Horkey followed by a double from Avery Hodges put runners on second and third. Colin Lipke doubled down the left field line to score the two runs and Lipke scored the third run on an error. Still down by one in the bottom of the sixth, Duncan Sparks led off with a double, went to third on a Bryson Harrald single to left and scored the tying run on a passed ball.

The scored stayed tied until the bottom of the eighth when Sparks got a one out walk, went to second on a ground out and took third when Harrald beat out an infield single. When the throw from short to try and get Harrald went in the dirt and got away from the first baseman, Sparks came home with the winning run.

Ragsdale is at home on Friday for a conference matchup with Southwest Guilford at 7:00 PM. East Forsyth will travel to West Davidson on Thursday for a 5:00 PM game.
