Game Report on Eastern Guilford-Burlington Williams from Friday night

The Wildcats from Eastern Guilford travel to Williams for a Mid-State 3A matchup. Eastern Guilford would start Andrew Robinson and for Williams it would be Scott Ellington. Eastern would waste no time getting on the board by putting up 3 runs in the 1st inning. Ryan Hackett would lead off with a single to right field and would be followed by a sacrifice bunt by Andrew Robinson. Williams would not be able to make the play and both runners would be safe. Caleb Robinson would step in and hit a 3 run homer over the centerfield fence. Andrew Robinson would get a 1,2,3 inning with a couple good plays behind him one from Hunter Ballard and the other from Jordan Rohrer. Ellington would get a quick inning in the 2nd. Robinson would get an out then Christian Miles would double to left center then Robinson would get the next two guys to keep the 3-0 lead. In the 3rd inning Eastern would get a single from Caleb Robinson but that would be it. Robinson would would get the first 2 batters then would struggle and walk the next 2 batters. Then the runner would try and advance to 3rd on a ball in the dirt but Luke Robinson would throw him out to end the threat and inning. The 4th inning would be 3 up 3 down for the Wildcats. Ellington would lead off with a double but the Bulldogs couldn’t capitalize and the game would stay 3-0. Eastern would do nothing in the 5th. Williams would lead off with a single and again Robinson would shut the door again getting the next 3 batter. The top of 6th the Wildcats would put up 7 runs. Caleb Robinson would lead off getting hit by a pitch. Luke Robinson would draw a walk. Hunter Ballard would sacrifice them over. Marque Johnson would single through a drawn in infield to bring home Caleb Robinson. Ellington would get a strike out next. Then Williams would bring in Alan Sharpe for the lefty on lefty matchup with Jordan Rohrer. Rohrer would take a walk. With 2 outs Sharpe would get a strike out but it would bounce away from the catcher allowing the batter to get to first to extend the inning. Hackett would get an infield single to bring home Luke Robinson. Andrew Robinson would get behind and fight off a good pitch into left field for a 2 RBI double. With runners on 2nd & 3rd Caleb Robinson delivers his 3rd hit of the game with a 2 RBI triple. Christian Mahaley would come in for Sharpe and get the last out of the inning. With the Wildcats up 10 Robinson would take the hill trying to get another shutout inning to seal the deal. Robinson would get the first batter to pop up. Ellington would get on with an error at 3rd. Robinson would get a strike out for the 2nd out of the inning. Williams would get back to back singles from Christian Miles and Jacob Schmiederer loading the bases. Robinson would strike out the next batter for the final out. Wildcats get a 10-0 win over a good Williams team.
