College Track and Field Results – Guilford Competes in NC A&T’s Aggie Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Guilford College Track and Field competed in the Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T State University Friday and Saturday. Guilford was one of two Division III schools in a meet featuring mostly Division I opposition.

Chad Norton won his section of the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.40, the best Guilford mark of the year in the event. David Cason (2:00.00) (Clemmons, N.C./West Forsyth) took second in the section. Andris Goncarovs (2:02.60) took fourth.

C.J. Green led Guilford’s sprinters in the 100 and 200 meter dash, finishing the 100 meter dash with a school’s season-best time of 11.14 seconds. Green finished the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.93, second-best for the Quakers in 2013.

Emmanuel Williams (11.37 seconds) took the second-best 100 meter dash time of 2013 while finishing the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.68 seconds.

Yashua Clemons (54.35 seconds) finished with the fourth-best 400 meter dash time this season.

Karima Jackson (13.61 seconds) finished with the second best time in school history in the 100 meter dash.

Rachel Flint finished the 400 meter dash with the second best time in school history with a time of 1:06.48. The mark was just .2 seconds short of her own school record. Not far behind in the race, Rebecca Reyna (1:06.71) (Liberty, N.C./Southern Alamance) finished with the third-best time in school history.

Jasmine O’Neill (Winston-Salem, N.C./Parkland) finished with the second-best 800 meter run time at 2:34.12, just 1.89 seconds away from her own school record.

Kaylea Trogdon (4.60 meters) finished with the second best long jump mark in school history, just .05 meters short of her own school record.

Guilford travels to Lexington, Va. for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships next Friday and Saturday.
