Baseball (20-18, 12-6 SoCon)
Elon at North Carolina, Wednesday, April 17, at 6 p.m., Chapel Hill, N.C.
Elon vs. Wofford, Friday-Sunday, April 19-21, at 6:30/6:30/1:30 p.m., Latham Park

• Elon will play its eighth game against a top-25 opponent this week when it travels to North Carolina on Wednesday evening.
• The Phoenix will be back at Latham Park with a three-game SoCon series against Wofford this weekend. Elon is currently tied for first in the league standings.
• Following Sunday’s game with the Terriers, Elon will host its head-shaving event to raise funds for The Vs. Cancer Foundation which helps to fund research to combat childhood cancers. To make a donation, visit http://www.stayclassy.org/fundraise/team?ftid=22110

Men’s Golf
Elon at The Coca-Cola Invitational, Monday-Tuesday, April 15-16, Spartanburg, S.C.

• The men’s golf team will play in its first tournament since its return from Europe as the maroon and gold will participate in The Coca-Cola Invitational hosted by Wofford this week.
• Elon last played an event on March 11-12 when the Phoenix placed ninth at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
• In that last event, John Somers was Elon’s top player, posting a three-round score of 220 to tie for 22nd.

Men’s Tennis (15-7)
2013 Southern Conference Tennis Championships, Thursday-Sunday, April 18-21, Elon, N.C./Burlington N.C.
#1 Elon vs. #8 Furman/#9 Appalachian State, Friday, April 19, at 9 a.m., Burlington Tennis Center

• After winning the Southern Conference regular season title outright last week, the Elon men’s tennis team earned the top seed in this week’s Southern Conference Tennis Championships.
• Elon faces the winner of eighth-seeded Furman and ninth-seeded Appalachian State on Friday, April 19, at 9 a.m. at the Burlington Tennis Center.

Softball (14-26, 4-11 SoCon)
Elon at Samford, Saturday-Sunday, April 20-21 at 2/4/2 p.m. (EST), Birmingham, Ala.

• Elon earned its first SoCon series win against Western Carolina this weekend, April 13-14. The Phoenix earned a 7-1 win over the Catamounts in its Pink Day game on Saturday, April 13, and clinched the series on Sunday, April 14, with a 4-1 win in the rubber match.
• Freshman pitcher Kayla Caruso went 2-0 with an ERA of 1.00 in the series versus the Catamounts. Caruso had complete game wins versus Western Carolina in the opener and the series finale.
• Senior outfielder Tomeka Watson has 97 career stolen bases at Elon and needs three more become only the second player in school history with 100 or more career stolen bases.

Track and Field
Elon at 2013 SoCon Outdoor Championships, Saturday-Sunday, April 20-21, Statesboro, Ga.

• Elon had two athletes break their own school records at the Joe Hilton Invitational on Saturday, April 13. Suzanne Martin extended her school-record in the javelin throw with a heave of 141’7” (43.15m) and breaking the program mark for the second consecutive meet. Charlise Morgan had a toss of 46’1.5” (14.06m) in the shot put, breaking her previous school-record she set at the Wake Forest Open.
• The Phoenix will look to improve upon its fifth-place finish at the 2012 league outdoor championships. Elon scored 102 total points at the meet last season.
• Freshman Caroline McCaslin earned the SoCon’s Outdoor Performer of the Week on Wednesday, April 10. McCaslin set a school-record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:34.87 at the Duke Invitational on Saturday, April 6.

Women’s Golf
Elon at SoCon Championship, Monday-Tuesday, April 15-16, Hilton Head, S.C.

• The 2013 SoCon Women’s Golf Championship got underway on Sunday with Elon shooting a first-round 315 to sit in a tie for sixth as a team.
• Freshman Sunna Vidisdottir shared the individual lead after one round with an even-par 72.

Women’s Tennis (19-3)
2013 Southern Conference Tennis Championships, Thursday-Sunday, April 18-21, Elon, N.C./Burlington N.C.
#2 Elon vs. # 7 Georgia Southern/#10 Wofford, Friday, April 19, at 1 p.m., The Jimmy Powell Tennis Center

• Winners of eight straight matches, the Elon women’s tennis team earned the No. 2 seed in this week’s Southern Conference Tennis Championships.
• The Phoenix takes on the winner of seventh-seeded Georgia Southern and tenth-seeded Wofford on Friday, April 19, at 1 p.m. at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
