Ragsdale was on the road at NW Guilford Tuesday night in a PTC match-up. Northwest got on the board first against Ragsdale starter Tim Ambrose in the bottom of the third. Jackson Bellenkes led off with a single and Christian Dix followed with a walk. Chase Covington laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the runners up and Jesse Juday sent a fly ball to deep right field that was caught but was deep enough to score Bellenkes from third. The score stayed 1 – 0 until the bottom of the sixth when Northwest struck again. A lead off double from Hunter Allen and a sac bunt put Allen on third. When Ambrose uncorked a wild pitch, Allen scored the game’s second run.

Adam Swim was in control the entire game for the Vikings. He got in a two out jam in the third, when a walk to Cesar Trejo and an error on a Ben Fischer ground ball put runners on first and third. He got a ground ball to get out of the inning. His only other tough sport was in the fourth when Duncan Sparks led off with a single and was sacrificed to second. After Swim got a strike out, Colin Lipke sent a ground ball wide of first that first baseman Colson Everett made a diving stop on and flipped to Swim for the third out. Swim only allowed one base runner over the final three innings. He was ahead in the count all night and only threw 82 pitches in seven innings of work.

Ragsdale goes on the road Wednesday for a non-conference matchup with Burlington Williams with the first pitch scheduled for 6:00 PM. Northwest Guilford will also travel to Randleman for a non-conference game on Thursday with a 7:00 PM start.
