Game Report on Eastern Guilford-Western Alamance from Friday night

Eastern Guilford hosts Western Alamance for senior night. Sophomore Breydan Gorham would get the start for the Warriors and Freshman Andrew Robinson would pitch for the Wildcats. Robinson would give up no runs in the top of the first. The Wildcats would get a run in the first when Ryan Hackett would get a single to lead off then steal 2nd and score on a single from Luke Robinson. Robinson would get a 3 up 3 down inning in the 2nd and so would Gorham. Western would score 1 in the 3rd when Gorham would reach on an error then Robinson would strike out lead off batter Brock Deatherage. Then another error would keep the inning alive then an RBI double from Blake Deatherage would tie the game. Gorham would get another 3 up 3 down inning. Western would score again in the 4th on an RBI single from Trey Pierce driving in Sam Foster. Hunter Ballard would single and Marque Johnson would draw a walk with one out but Gorham would slam the door shut with 2 strike outs to end the inning. Robinson would give up a leadoff walk to Brock Deatherage but Luke Robinson would erase that as he throws out the speedy Deatherage trying to steal 2nd. Robinson would walk Michael Olenoski but would get a pop up and a strikeout to end the inning. In the 6th inning Western would extend their lead by scoring 3 runs. Sam Foster would single then Pierce would follow with another single. then Gorham would help his cause by hitting a 2 run double. Gorham would come in on a shallow fly ball from Brock Deatherage. Eastern would close the gap by scoring 2 runs of their own. Caleb Robinson would lead off getting hit by a pitch then move up on a ground ball and score on a single from Hunter Ballard. Marque Johnson would single and then Khayree Lundy would get a ground ball to bring home Ballard. In the 7th Garrett Hodge would hit a solo home run for a run. Then Sam Foster would get his 3rd hit of the game and later score on a bases loaded walk from Marque Johnson. Eastern could only get 1 run in the last inning on a one out walk to Hackett then a stolen base. Caleb Robinson would get on with an error and Luke Robinson would get an RBI single to bring in the last run. Blake Deatherage would come in for a 1 out save to end the game. Western wins 7-4. Good pitched game by both starters but Gorham was on tonight!
