A season of firsts for the Winston-Salem State baseball team continued when outfielder Travis Moore(Dudley High School/Greensboro, N.C.) was named All-America.

Moore, a 26-year-old senior from Greensboro, was named on the Daktronics Division II All-America second team.

“As far as I know I don’t think a Winston-Salem State player has ever been All-America in baseball,” said Coach Kevin Ritsche of the Rams, who just completed his third season and compiled a school-best 39-13 record.

Daktronics first started naming Division II All-America teams in 2007.

Moore, who was All-CIAA first team, led the Rams with a .392 average with 46 stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .485. He scored a team-high 64 runs and had 78 hits in 199 at-bats.

“Travis really had a great season for us and the thing about him was he was so consistent,” Ritsche said. “So for him to be named All-America is great to see.”
