MISS LOU LOU GEHRIG SENT TO EXTENDED SPRING TRAINING

(Greensboro, NC) – After months of refining skills and fundamentals in Spring Training and professional games, the Greensboro Grasshoppers youngest bat girl has been sent back to Extended Spring Training.

Miss Lou Lou Gehrig saw limited playing time early in the 2013 season but her coaches have recently noticed a few areas that need some extra work, away from NewBridge Bank Park.

“We are very proud of Lou Lou, as she has worked hard and progressed extremely well for her age.” said Grasshoppers President Donald Moore. “She became very timid and her coaches feel that less daily competition with her elders (Miss Babe Ruth and Master Yogi Berra) will help her refocus and work on the basics.”

The now 1 ½ year-old Gehrig will work with instructors through daily practices and situational play for the next several weeks. While it is not yet known when she will be recalled, she is highly projected to earn a roster spot with the 2014 squad.

Anyone wishing to send Lou Lou notes of encouragement can leave them either at the ballpark or at CityView Apartment Homes at Southside, her sponsor, where she is welcome and loved!

The Hoppers are in the middle of a seven-game homestand through Sunday, June 30. For ticket information, please contact the Grasshoppers Box Office at 336.268.2255 or online at www.gsohoppers.com.
