Powerade State Games Final Weekend On Tap
Basketball, Cycling, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse & Swimming Wrap Up The Games

DURHAM, NC,- The Powerade State Games of North Carolina will wrap up its final weekend of competition for 2013 with High School Basketball, Mountain Bike, Criterium, Ice Hockey, Adult Lacrosse, High School Lacrosse and Swimming.

The High School Lacrosse Showcase will be held at Memorial Stadium in Uptown Charlotte on the night of June 27th to kick off the weekend’s activities. The Girls Showcase will start at 5:30pm, followed by the Boys Showcase at 7:30pm. The Charlotte Hounds will help host the tournament at their home stadium.

High School Basketball starts on Friday, June 28th and runs through the weekend. Featuring twenty boys teams and twelve girls teams from across the state will compete as in tact varsity teams in this summer tournament.

Many adults will be competing in the Games this weekend as our Adult Ice Hockey (Extreme Ice Center), Adult Lacrosse (Elon Park), Mountain Bike (Fisher Farm Park) and Criterium (Mooresville Motorplex) events are held across the region. The Criterium will be extremely unique in that it is held on a go cart track for the first time. We have 19 Adult Lacrosse teams signed up to compete at Elon Park, including 2 women’s teams.

Finally, the Powerade State Games Swim Meet returns to the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center for two days of competition on Saturday and Sunday. We have nearly 400 youth and adult competitors signed up for the swim meet so far. The facility also hosted this event in 2009 and 2010.
