The Eaves Report:The Next Level Summer Camp

from former N.C. A&T Aggie head mens basketball coach Jerry Eaves, now evaluating basketball talent on the high school and middle levels, for GreensboroSports.com…

The NEXT LEVEL BASKETBALL Summer Evaluation clinics made its second to last stop of the summer at Proehlific Park in Greensboro, on Saturday July 6th.

This event attracted players from the Tidewater Area in Virginia all the way to Springfield, Georgia. But one of the players that stood out on this day was Michael Phifer. Michael is a 6’3 (class of 2015) wing from Eden Morehead High School in Eden, NC. He is an athletic versatile wing who excels in the open court by finishing above the rim and with his size he has the ability to earn 3 points the old fashion way. Michael also has the ability to step out and knock down the open 3.

Another player in the Elite group that played well throughout the day was Jonathan Clark. Jonathan is a 6’2 (class of 2015) shooting guard from Green Hope High School in Cary, NC. He did a great job of getting to the basket and finishing in traffic, as well as having the ability to hit the 3.

In the Junior Elite group, Khalil Barrett, a rising 8th grader (class of 2018) 5’11, a guard from Tucker Creek Middle School in Havelock, NC stood out as the top performer for this age group. Khalil’s size and strength allowed him to get to the basket at will. He also did an outstanding job of distributing the basketball to his teammates.

Below are some other players who had a good day in Greensboro:

Trevon Bell 5’3 PG 2019 Fayetteville, NC Solid guard, great feel for the game

Jordan Davis 5’11 G 2017 Irmo, SC Skilled combo guard, nice mid-range game
