CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Panthers Stadium President Jon Richardson, and son of Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, has died after a lengthy battle with cancer, a source confirmed to the Charlotte Observer on Tuesday afternoon.
He was 53.

*****Jon Richardson was a starting wide receiver for two seasons with the North Carolina Tar Heels and was with the Heels for a total of three years and he later had a pro tryout with his dad’s old team, the Baltimore Colts…Jon’s brother Mark played college football for the Clemson Tigers….Jon Richardson also served as stadium president for the Carolina Panthers, for a number of years….*****
