15 Minutes at 15 schools in 15 days:First day of HS Football Practice

First day of practice and we are hoping to get at least one minute of video from each Guilford County high school over the next fifteen days and therefore we would have, ’15 minutes at 15 schools, in 15 days…Got about two weeks to get all it done and we made the first stop today at Grimsley, since they are located the closest to where we work and it makes for a quick stop…

Going to try and head toward Northwest Guilford on Friday afternoon and then maybe Page on Saturday morning…We will see…Dennis White will heading toward Dudley and others next week, we hope….If any coaches have any info for us, feel free to contact us at andy@greensborosports.com…..Have a few calls in to some of the coaches and may have more back from them later on tonight….

Talked to new Whirlie football coach Pat Neal and coach said he had 52 players out on the field for the first day of practice and that the practices would run from 6-8:30 with one per day until August 7 and then the two-a-days would begin….

Coach Neal said the top returning players were his offensive line and Clark Yow will be looked upon to lead that O’line….

The Whirlies open their season on Friday August 23 vs. Ragsdale at home in Jamieson Stadium….

Today on the first day of practice there were lots of drills, running different plays, whistles and water breaks….

  1. Andy no one seems to be talking about the quarterback situation at Ragsdale have you heard anything? With the Herndon brothers gone who is left to step up?

  2. Hopefully our man out there in Jamestown, Mike Ellis, will be checking in with us soon….Got a call into him and waiting on the word from the Jamestown News sports source….

  3. At Ragsdale, the starting QB looks to be Alec Cobb or Mike Hukill…Neither young man has much varsity experience at all, but Hukill did start quite a bit on the JV’s last season….

Ragsdale to be very young, all the way around this season…

The word from Mike Ellis at the Jamestown News and we thank Mike for that report….
