Will Hayes Joins HPU Strength & Conditioning Staff

HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Ryan Billings announced the addition of Will Hayes to the coaching staff on Wednesday. Hayes joined the Panthers after three years at UNC Greensboro.

“I am thrilled to have Will Hayes join the Strength & Conditioning staff here at HPU,” Billings said. “I am impressed with Will’s knowledge and passion for the field of strength and conditioning and am excited for our student athletes to benefit from his coaching expertise.”

Hayes coached for three years at UNC Greensboro, rising from Graduate Intern to Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. While at UNCG, he was responsible for the training programs for women’s volleyball, baseball, women’s tennis, men’s golf, men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s track and field.

“I am very excited to join the HPU family as a part of the Strength & Conditioning staff,” Hayes said. “This is an outstanding athletic department and I believe that I can bring an expertise in Olympic sports that will help enrich the training of all our student-athletes.”

Hayes earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2010. During his time at Chapel Hill he worked as an intern with the UNC Strength & Conditioning department.

Hayes received his master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from UNC Greensboro in 2012. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a United States Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach (USAW).
