College Volleyball Final – Lynchburg 3, Guilford 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Visiting Lynchburg College served up 17 aces in Friday night’s 3-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball win over Guilford College. The Hornets scored a 25-12, 25-15, 25-15 win and improved to 4-6 overall, 1-1 in the ODAC. The Quakers drop to 3-7 (0-2 ODAC).

Rookies Sierra Strathy and Amanda Perry served up five aces apiece in the win. Sophomore setter Gabby Myers, who entered the game as the league leader in aces per set, had three in the match, plus a team-high 16 assists. Mackenzie Ross paced the hitters with a match-best 11 kills on .368 hitting. Perry added six putaways and libero Sam Page picked up a team-best 11 digs.

Senior Brittany Freeman’s seven kills paced the Quakers’ offense and classmate Taylor Whitley had 10 assists. Kelsey Ruehling added five kills and Meredith Foscue paced the Quakers with seven digs.

Guilford hosts Randolph College Saturday (9/14) at 2:00 p.m. in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
