Men’s Soccer: Guilford 3, EMU 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Robert Sandidge had two goals and an assist to lead Guilford College to a 3-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Eastern Mennonite Saturday afternoon at the Armfield Athletic Center.

Sandidge opened the scoring at 27:39 off an assist by Corey Mc Donough. It was the only goal of the first half, and as it turned out, the only goal the Quakers (4-2-1, 0-2 ODAC) would need in the game.

McDonough and Sandidge swapped places for the game’s second goal, which came just 2:15 into the second half. Guilford continued to control the action for the rest of the game and with three minutes left, Sandidge made a nice athletic play, jumping over a downed player, to score the final goal of the game.

Michael MacVane stopped all five shots he faced to win for the fourth time this season. Andrew Yoder took the loss for the Royals (2-6, 0-2).

The Quakers return to action on Wednesday, September 25th, when they host Randolph at 7:00 pm in an ODAC tilt.
