Down 20-3 at half, James Summers(Page HS) and his Hinds CC team battle back to win 24-20

Still tracking the Junior College trip of James Summers(Page High School) and last week James and his Hinds Community College Eagles battled back to top 2nd ranked Jones CC, 24-20…Summers and Hinds were down 20-3 at halftime in this game….

Makes for a good read and here is a piece of the post and there will be a link at the bottom to catch it all…

The Hinds Community College Eagles made a move and dug into their bag of tricks to reduce the Jones lead…..

Diantae Thomas (Dothan, Ala.) took the reverse handoff from quarterback James Summers (Greensboro, N.C.) and found a wide open Robert Lockhart (Delray Beach, Fla.) for a 77-yard touchdown strike. Houston’s point after was successful and the Jones margin was cut to 20-17 with 4:08 remaining in the third quarter.

Summers would put the Eagles ahead for good as time expired in the third quarter when he scampered in from 22 yards out on a read-option carry. The Houston point after was good and Hinds was now ahead, 24-20, heading into the final frame.

Summers was the leading rusher for the Eagles with 25 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown, as well as finishing 13-31 for 168 yards and one interception through the air.
