LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee got two goals from Zach Colby in the first half en route to a 2-1 victory over Guilford in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men’s soccer game Saturday afternoon.
Colby opened the scoring just 3:38 into the game, giving the Generals (9-1-5, 7-1-2 ODAC)the early lead. Jonny Goffredi knotted the score just over a minute later, when he scored on an unassisted goal. It was the third goal of the year for Goffredi.
The game remained tied until Colby scored his 13th goal of the season at the 21-minute mark. Washington and Lee took the one-goal lead into intermission and neither team was able to score in the second half.
Michael MacVane turned back four shots for the Quakers (6-7-3, 3-5-2 ODAC).
Guilford concludes its regular season with a road contest Tuesday at league rival Hampden-Sydney.
