Eagles Roll Cowboys

Southwest started the turnovers early throwing an interception on their first possession. The Eagles returned the interception back to the 28 yard line. Not long after the Eagles ran the ball 20 yards for a Touchdown taking the lead 7-0. Southwest answered soon after with a Rick Mack 19 yard rush TD evening the score at 7-7. East Forsyth answered with a touchdown and would not slow down for a long time. The score was 14-7 after an Eagle rushing touchdown.

East Forsyth was knocking on the door and the Cowboys forced a fumble on the 4 yard line and recovered. The Cowboys had a quick three and out and punted the ball to their own 23. East struck quickly for a 17 yard TD pass to go further ahead 21-7. Southwest’s luck kept going downhill when QB Eric Cunningham was injured. He eventually came back but he was limping. Braxton Price was also injured for the Cowboys but was able to walk off the field under his own power after a helmet-to-helmet collision. Southwest proceeded to turn the ball over on their own 35 on a failed fake punt attempt. East Forsyth capitalized yet again bringing the score to 28-7 at halftime.

Southwest turnover woes continued only 14 seconds into the third Quarter. They were intercepted on a deep pass in East Forsyth territory. East Forsyth would add a rushing TD and passing TD bringing the game to 42-7. The Cowboys finally punched in another touchdown being scored by Rick Mack on a 4 yard pass from Justin Hensley. However, the XP was blocked and East Forsyth would add one more score and the game would end 49-13.

The Cowboys will be traveling to face the NWG Vikings next Friday.

  1. Southwest wouldn’t be losing all these games if they had all their key players healthy. I heard number 5 for them is out for the season and number 7. One of them tore their ACL. It seems like the numbers for SW go down week by week.

  2. There has been a lot of injuries this year. Also some ineligible players due to grades. Numbers are certainly heading downhill
