The Kansas City Royals are being sued by a fan who was injured by a hot dog!
It was not just any hot dog, it was a foiled wrapped hot dog tossed into the stands by the team mascot.
The fan was hit in the eye and has required two surgical procedures so far.
Previously, teams were covered by the fine print on the ticket that stated that balls and bats may enter the seating area. This fan’s attorney’s pointed out that souvenirs tossed by non-playing team employees are not the same as a ball or bat that enters the seating area.
Unfortunately, the attorney has a point and this lawsuit may put an end to teams tossing or shooting things into the stands.
