Men’s Soccer: Randolph 1, Guilford 0

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Guilford’s men’s soccer season came to an end with a 1-0 setback to top-seeded Randolph Saturday night in the quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) tournament.

The regular season matchup between the two schools saw the WildCats come away with an easy 4-0 win. But it was a different story the second time around. Randolph pushed the attack but was unable to generate much offense, thanks to a strong game from goalkeeper Michael MacVane, who made eight saves.

The only score of the game came on a rebound late in the first half. Julian Khalili was able to slip one past MacVane at the 40-minute mark with what proved to be the game-winner. It was the fourth 1-0 setback for the Quakers this season.

Randolph (16-1-1) advances to the semifinals while Guilford (6-9-3) coach Jeff Bateson and his staff begin their off season preparations.
