King, a 6-2 center, averaged a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds per game in the Quakers’ 2-0 week. She shot nearly 61 percent from the floor and also had three assists. King’s 17 points and 10 rebounds helped Guilford rally past cross-town rival Greensboro College Dec. 14 for a 77-70 overtime win. She paced Guilford less than a day later with 15 points and six boards in 14 minutes of a 76-38 road victory at William Peace University.

Through the Quakers’ first nine games, King tops Guilford with 12.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. She also boasts the team’s top free-throw percentage (.889), which ranks second in the ODAC. King has connected on nearly 54 percent of her shots from the floor and stands sixth among the league’s field-goal percentage leaders. King has a club-high two double-doubles this year and has moved into 19th place on Guilford’s career scoring list with 957 career points.

King helped coach Stephanie Flamini’s club extend its winning streak to five. The Quakers are 8-1 (1-1 ODAC), their best start since 2007, entering a weekend trip to Florida where they will play the University of Scranton (12/20) and Benedictine University (12/21) in the Daytona Beach Shootout. Guilford’s next home game is Jan. 11 versus ODAC-rival Virginia Wesleyan College.
