Fall Wells Fargo Conference Cup Standings Announced

Wells Fargo, along with the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, today announced the final standings in the Wells Fargo Conference Cup competitions for the 2013 fall sports season.

The Wells Fargo Cup award, sponsored by Wells Fargo and the NCHSAA, recognizes the high schools that achieve the best overall interscholastic athletic performance within each of the state’s four competitive classifications.

The Wells Fargo Conference Cup is a companion to the Wells Fargo Cup and recognizes schools with the best overall interscholastic athletic performances within individual conferences. Wachovia and now Wells Fargo has sponsored the conference awards program since 1980.

In most conferences, points are awarded based on participation and standings in conference play. Each conference determines its own method of awarding points. Conferences are listed alphabetically by classification.

Class 1-A Conference Results:

Carolina 1-A: It is a tight race for the top spot, with Princeton getting the better of Rosewood this fall, thanks to league titles in volleyball and women’s cross country as well as a runner-up finish in football. Rosewood finished first in men’s cross country and second in volleyball. Spring Creek is third, with a top finish in men’s soccer and a second-place performance in men’s cross country. Conference Standings: Princeton 32, Rosewood 31, Spring Creek 23.5, James Kenan 20, Hobbton 19, North Duplin 18, Lakewood 15.5, Neuse Charter 2.

Coastal 10 1-A: With a share of the league title in both volleyball and men’s soccer as well as a runner-up finish in football, Camden leads the conference after the fall. Manteo is second, tying for the top spot in men’s soccer and finishing third in football. Perquimans earned a share of the conference volleyball title with Camden and is third after the fall. Conference Standings: Camden 28, Manteo 24.5, Perquimans 23.5, Gates County 20, Cape Hatteras 16, Plymouth 16, Columbia 9, Creswell 5, Mattamuskeet 5, Ocracoke 2.

Coastal Plains 1-A: Lejeune secures the top spot in the conference, with a championship in football and second-place finishes in men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country. Second place belongs to East Carteret, which finished the fall with top performances in volleyball, women’s tennis, and men’s soccer. Northside is in third thanks to a conference crown in volleyball. Conference Standings: Lejeune 260, East Carteret 230, Northside 200, Pamlico 185, Bear Grass 135, Southside 100, Jones 85.

North Central 1-A: The top three teams are difficult to separate after the fall, but Raleigh Charter manages to come out on top, tying for first in volleyball, men’s soccer, and women’s tennis, and finishing second in women’s cross country. Franklin Academy is only a half-point behind in second, thanks to a league title in women’s cross country and ties for first with Raleigh Charter in both men’s soccer and women’s tennis. Voyager Academy is a close third with a top finish in men’s cross country and a tie for first in volleyball. Conference Standings: Raleigh Charter 31, Franklin Academy 30.5, Voyager Academy 27.5, Woods Charter 19, Roxboro Community 16, Kestrel Heights 10, River Mill Academy 9, East Wake Academy 8.

Northwest 1-A: With a sweep of the conference cross country championships and a share of the women’s tennis title, Bishop McGuinness owns the top spot in the conference after the fall. Mount Airy finished first in football and tied for first in both men’s soccer and women’s tennis to claim second in the conference. North Stokes is third, finishing first in volleyball and second in women’s cross country. Conference Standings: Bishop McGuinness 36.5, Mount Airy 32, North Stokes 25, East Surry 21.5, Walkertown 20, Atkins 19, Winston-Salem Prep 6.

Smoky Mountain 1-A: Swain separates itself from the pack, with conference crowns in football and women’s cross country to go with second-place finishes in volleyball and men’s soccer this fall. Murphy is second, finishing second in football and third in volleyball, while Hayesville is third, finishing second in both men’s and women’s cross country. Conference Standings: Swain 52, Murphy 44, Hayesville 41, Robbinsville 35, Cherokee 28, Andrews 22, Rosman 19, Blue Ridge 18.5, Highlands 18, Nantahala 13, Hiwassee Dam 8.5.

Southern Piedmont 1-A: Top finishes in volleyball, men’s cross country, men’s soccer, and women’s tennis secure the top spot for the Community School of Davidson. Thomas Jefferson finds itself in second, with a conference championship in men’s soccer and a runner-up finish in men’s cross country. Third place is Highland Tech’s, thanks to a first-place finish in women’s golf this fall. Conference Standings: Community School of Davidson 81, Thomas Jefferson 73, Highland Tech 64, Cherryville 63, Pine Lake Prep 58, Lincoln Charter 54, Bessemer City 51.

Tar Roanoke 1-A: Granville Central sits atop the conference after the fall, with a championship in men’s soccer, a tie for first in volleyball, and second-place finishes in football, and men’s and women’s cross country. Second place belongs to Louisburg, which finished first in football and tied with Granville Central for a share of the conference volleyball title. KIPP Pride is third, thanks to a sweep of the conference cross country championships. Conference Standings: Granville Central 19, Louisburg 16, KIPP Pride 13, Southeast Halifax 10, Northwest Halifax 5, Weldon 4.

Two Rivers 1-A: First place belongs to Riverside-Martin, which captured championships in volleyball and men’s cross country and tied for first in women’s tennis with second-place Tarboro, which also finished first in football this fall. South Creek is third overall, finishing second in volleyball and third in women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Riverside-Martin 59.5, Tarboro 51, South Creek 46, Northampton 33, Rocky Mount Preparatory 23, North Edgecombe 16.

Yadkin Valley 1-A: A dominant fall sports season, including league titles in volleyball, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s cross country, secures the top spot for Gray Stone Day. East Montgomery is second with a first-place finish in men’s soccer and a runner-up performance in women’s tennis. North Moore just edges out Union Academy for third, thanks to a second-place finish in men’s soccer. Conference Standings: Gray Stone Day 260, East Montgomery 230, North Moore 215, Union Academy 210, West Montgomery 200, North Stanly 195, Albemarle 167.5, Chatham Central 155, South Stanly 125, Queens Grant 107.5, South Davidson 80.

Class 1-A/2-A Conference Results:

Four County 1-A/2-A: Wallace-Rose Hill is the conference leader after the fall, with a share of the league titles in both football and men’s soccer with second-place Clinton. Clinton also finished first in women’s tennis and sits ahead of third-place West Bladen, which finished second in women’s tennis and tied for second with Wallace-Rose Hill in volleyball. Conference Standings: Wallace-Rose Hill 32.5, Clinton 30, West Bladen 22.5, East Bladen 21.5, Pender 20.5, Midway 19, Union 14.5, Heide Trask 12.5.

Mountain Valley 1-A/2-A: Ashe County is able to get the better of Elkin this fall and claim the top spot in the conference with a championship in football, a share of the men’s soccer title, and a second-place finish in women’s cross country. Elkin finished first in both women’s golf and men’s cross country to edge out third-place Wilkes Central, which tied with Ashe County for first in men’s soccer and also finished second in women’s golf this fall. Conference Standings: Ashe County 43.5, Elkin 38, Wilkes Central 35.5, East Wilkes 27, Starmount 26, Alleghany 25, West Wilkes 24, North Wilkes 22.

Three Rivers 1-A/2-A: Championships in football, women’s tennis, and men’s soccer earn Whiteville the top spot in the conference after the fall season. Fairmont beats out South Columbus for second, thanks to runner-up finishes in volleyball and women’s tennis. Third-place South Columbus finished first in volleyball and shared the league football title with conference leader Whiteville. Conference Standings: Whiteville 45, Fairmont 29, South Columbus 25.5, St. Paul’s 25, South Robeson 23.5, Red Springs 23, East Columbus 18.5, West Columbus 10.5.

Western Highlands 1-A/2-A: Hendersonville is able to claim the top spot in the conference with league titles in volleyball, women’s tennis, and women’s golf, relegating Polk County to second despite its sweep of the cross country championships and a conference crown in football. Mountain Heritage is third, tying for second in volleyball and finishing third in football this fall. Conference Standings: Hendersonville 76, Polk County 75.5, Mountain Heritage 57.5, Avery County 54, Charles D. Owen 52, Madison 36, Mitchell 29.

Class 2-A Conference Results:

Central Carolina 2-A: The race for the top spot is close with Salisbury the frontrunner in the conference, finishing first in women’s tennis, women’s golf, men’s soccer, and men’s cross country. Top finishes in women’s cross country and volleyball have West Davidson a close second, while East Davidson is third, finishing second in women’s cross country and third in football. Conference Standings: Salisbury 63, West Davidson 60, East Davidson 52.5, Lexington 40.5, North Rowan 38.5, Thomasville 33.5.

East Central 2-A: East Duplin leads the pack after a fantastic fall sports season, winning championships in volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and men’s cross country. Croatan is close behind in second, finishing first in both women’s golf and women’s cross country. Third place goes to North Brunswick, which finished second in women’s golf and third in football. Conference Standings: East Duplin 67, Croatan 65, North Brunswick 53, Dixon 52, Southwest Onslow 46, Northside 44.

Eastern Carolina 2-A: With a solid fall sports season including a second-place finish in volleyball, North Lenoir finds itself atop the conference. Green Central is just a half point behind in second, thanks to a conference title in men’s soccer and a runner-up finish in women’s tennis. Third place belongs to Ayden-Grifton, which finished first in football this fall. Conference Standings: North Lenoir 19.5, Greene Central 19, Ayden-Grifton 18, South Lenoir 16, Kinston 14.5, Goldsboro 11.

Eastern Plains 2-A: Washington finishes the fall on top, thanks to a stellar sports season consisting of championships in football, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country, as well as second-place finishes in volleyball and men’s cross country. Second place belongs to Beddingfield, which finished first in men’s soccer and men’s cross country, and second in football and women’s tennis. North Pitt is third, with third-place performances in volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s cross country. Conference Standings: Washington 31, Beddingfield 22.5, North Pitt 17, Farmville Central 16, North Johnston 15.5, SouthWest Edgecombe 7.

Mid-State 2-A: The top spot belongs to Carrboro after the fall season, thanks to a sweep of the cross country championships as well as first-place finishes in men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and volleyball. Second-place Jordan-Matthews finished second in women’s tennis and women’s cross country, while Graham is in third after the fall with runner-up performances in men’s cross country, men’s soccer, and football. Conference Standings: Carrboro 32, Jordan-Matthews 24, Graham 20, Reidsville 19, Bartlett Yancey 16, Cummings 13.

Northern Carolina 2-A: The top three teams remain close after the fall sports season, with the North Carolina School of Science and Math leading the way thanks to championships in men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and men’s cross country. Franklinton is second with a runner-up finish in men’s soccer and a third-place performance in women’s tennis. Bunn is only one point behind in third, finishing second in football and third in volleyball. Conference Standings: NCSSM 29, Franklinton 25, Bunn 24, Durham School of the Arts 23, South Granville 23, Roanoke Rapids 15, Southern Vance 14, Warren County 7.

Northeastern Coastal 2-A: Northeastern controls the conference after the fall, claiming the top spot with championships in volleyball and men’s cross country, and a second-place finish in men’s soccer. Northeastern also tied for first in football with both Currituck and First Flight. First Flight is second overall in the conference, finishing first in men’s soccer and women’s cross country, and second in women’s tennis and men’s cross country. Currituck is on the heels of First Flight in third, thanks to a runner-up finish in volleyball in addition to its share of the conference football title. Conference Standings: Northeastern 36, First Flight 34, Currituck 33, Edenton Holmes 29, Hertford County 11, Pasquotank 10, Bertie 7.

PAC 6 2-A: Winning championships in volleyball and women’s tennis and finishing second in men’s and women’s cross country earn Wheatmore first in the conference after the fall. Randleman is on Wheatmore’s heels in second, thanks to a sweep of the conference cross country championships and a second-place finish in men’s soccer. There is a tie for third between Providence Grove and Trinity, the men’s soccer conference champion. Providence Grove finished second in women’s tennis and third in volleyball and women’s cross country this fall. Conference Standings: Wheatmore 27.5, Randleman 25.5, Providence Grove 20, Trinity 20, Eastern Randolph 16.5, High Point Andrews 12.5.

Rocky River 2-A: With a narrow lead over second-place Parkwood, Central Academy is in first, capturing conference crowns in men’s soccer and men’s cross country and finishing second in women’s cross country. Parkwood finished second in men’s cross country and is a half point ahead of Forest Hills, which finished second in football this fall. Conference Standings: Central Academy 24.5, Parkwood 21, Forest Hills 20.5, West Stanly 20, Mount Pleasant 20, Monroe 13.

Southern District 7 2-A: Newton-Conover has a half-point lead over second-place East Lincoln after the fall sports season, thanks to top finishes in women’s tennis and volleyball, and a tie for first in men’s soccer. East Lincoln finished first in football and women’s cross country, and second in men’s cross country to hold off the rest of the league. Bandys and Maiden are in a deadlock for third, with Bandys finishing first in men’s cross country, and Maiden finishing second in football, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country this fall. Conference Standings: Newton-Conover 35.5, East Lincoln 35, Bandys 30, Maiden 30, West Lincoln 24, Lincolnton 23, Bunker Hill 21, West Caldwell 17.5.

Western Piedmont 2-A: Surry Central is the premier school in the conference after the fall, just beating out West Stokes and Forbush thanks to league titles in women’s tennis and men’s cross country, and a tie for first in men’s soccer with Forbush. West Stokes settles for second, with a first-place finish in women’s cross country and second-place finishes in men’s cross country, volleyball, and football. Forbush is only a half-point behind in third, and finished second in women’s golf and women’s cross country in addition to its share of the conference men’s soccer championship. Conference Standings: Surry Central 30.5, West Stokes 30, Forbush 29.5, North Surry 24.5, South Stokes 18.5, Carver 8.

Class 2-A/3-A Conference Results:

Big South 2-A/3-A: Lake Norman Charter finishes the fall in first, winning championships in men’s and women’s cross country, women’s tennis, volleyball, and sharing the conference crown in men’s soccer with second-place Ashbrook. Ashbrook added second-place finishes in football, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country to its co-championship in men’s soccer to narrowly beat out South Point in third. South Point finished first in football and second in women’s golf this fall. Conference Standings: Lake Norman Charter 82.5, Ashbrook 75.5, South Point 74.5, Forestview 71.5, East Gaston 59, North Gaston 58.5, Hunter Huss 43.5, Stuart Cramer 36.

South Mountain Athletic 2-A/3-A: A conference crown in men’s cross country and second-place finishes in men’s soccer and women’s cross country procure the top spot in the conference for Shelby. Crest is second with a top finish in football and a share of the conference women’s tennis title with J.C. Draughn, which also finished first in women’s cross country to take the third-place spot in the conference after the fall. Conference Standings: Shelby 44, Crest 41.5, Draughn 38.5, Kings Mountain 31.5, R-S Central 30, Burns 27, East Burke 20.5, Chase 15.5, East Rutherford 14.5.

Western North Carolina Athletic 2-A/3-A: West Henderson leads the conference after the fall, capturing championships in volleyball and women’s golf, and finishing second in women’s tennis and both men’s and women’s cross country. Second place belongs to Franklin, which placed first in football and men’s cross country. Pisgah is third, thanks to a second-place performance in football and third-place finishes in volleyball, women’s tennis, and women’s golf. Conference Standings: West Henderson 43.5, Franklin 38.5, Pisgah 35, East Henderson 28.5, Brevard 28, North Henderson 28, Smoky Mountain 27.5, Tuscola 18.

Class 3-A Conference Results:

Big 8 3-A: With a first-place finish in volleyball and runner-up performances in women’s tennis and men’s soccer, Cardinal Gibbons claims the top spot in the conference after the fall. Chapel Hill is second, finishing first in men’s soccer and tying for second in volleyball with Cedar Ridge, which is currently in third place overall. Cedar Ridge also finished second in women’s tennis this fall. Conference Standings: Cardinal Gibbons 39, Chapel Hill 34.5, Cedar Ridge 27, Orange 25, Northwood 23, Southern Durham 12, Oxford Webb 10, Northern Vance 7.5.

Big East 3-A: Hunt leads the conference after the fall sports season, finishing first in football and men’s soccer, tying for first in women’s tennis, and finishing second in volleyball and women’s golf. Fike has sole possession of second, with conference crowns in volleyball and women’s tennis, and a runner-up finish in football. Rocky Mount is third, sharing the conference women’s tennis title with Hunt, and finishing first in women’s cross country and second in men’s cross country. Conference Standings: Hunt 68.5, Fike 63.5, Rocky Mount 55.5, Southern Nash 53.5, Northern Nash 50, Nash Central 46.5.

Cape Fear Valley 3-A: Terry Sanford is out in front after the fall, capturing championships in men’s soccer, women’s golf, women’s tennis, and men’s cross country. In a battle for second, Lee County edges out Union Pines thanks to a top finish in volleyball and a runner-up performance in football. Union Pines finished first in women’s cross country and second in women’s golf to secure third. Conference Standings: Terry Sanford 45, Lee Country 37, Union Pines 35, Southern Lee 26, Gray’s Creek 22, Douglas Byrd 14, Westover 10.

Coastal 3-A: The top two teams are only separated by a single point after the fall, with Jacksonville in the top spot thanks to championships in men’s soccer and women’s golf, and ties for first in women’s tennis and volleyball with second-place Swansboro. Swansboro also finished second in women’s soccer and women’s cross country. Third place belongs to West Carteret, which swept the conference cross country championships and finished second in women’s golf. Conference Standings: Jacksonville 40, Swansboro 39, West Carteret 35, Havelock 22.5, White Oak 20, Richlands 18.5, West Craven 17.

Mid Piedmont 3-A: Ledford leads the conference after the fall, thanks to a championship in women’s tennis and a tie for second in football with second-place Asheboro. Asheboro captured conference crowns in volleyball and women’s cross country and is just a half-point ahead of third-place Central Davidson, which finished first in men’s cross country and men’s soccer as well as second in volleyball this fall. Conference Standings: Ledford 34.5, Asheboro 29.5, Central Davidson 29, Western Guilford 22.5, Southwestern Randolph 19.5, North Forsyth 17, Southern Guilford 16.

Mid State 3-A: Northern Guilford proves formidable after the fall, dominating the conference competition with top finishes in women’s golf, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s cross country. Northern Guilford also finished second in men’s soccer and tied for first in football with second-place Western Alamance, which added a conference crown in men’s soccer and a runner-up performance in women’s cross country to its fall campaign. There is a tie for third in the conference between Eastern Alamance and Walter Williams. Eastern Alamance finished second in women’s cross country while Walter Williams finished second in women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Northern Guilford 93.5, Western Alamance 80, Eastern Alamance 78.5, Walter Williams 78.5, Morehead 63, Rockingham County 58.5, McMichael 58, Northeast Guilford 53, Eastern Guilford 48.

Mountain Athletic 3-A: T.C. Roberson is first after the fall, capturing league titles in men’s soccer and women’s cross country, and finishing second in volleyball, women’s tennis, and men’s cross country. Asheville claims second, beating out Enka thanks to top finishes in women’s tennis, men’s cross country, and football. Enka settles for third, despite a first-place finish in women’s golf and a runner-up finish in volleyball. Conference Standings: T.C. Roberson 80, Asheville 67, Enka 65, A.C. Reynolds 60, North Buncombe 54, McDowell 32, Erwin 32.

South Piedmont 3-A: Conference championships in volleyball, men’s soccer, and football have Jesse Carson out in front after the fall sports season. Cox Mill finished first in women’s golf and women’s cross country and sits close behind in second. Top finishes in women’s tennis and men’s cross country propel East Rowan to third. Conference Standings: Jesse Carson 260, Cox Mill 252.5, East Rowan 245, Concord 242.5, Northwest Cabarrus 222.5, Hickory Ridge 205, West Rowan 160, Central Cabarrus 122.5, South Rowan 110.

Southern Carolina 3-A: Weddington is able to hold off Marvin Ridge to finish the fall in front, winning championships in football, men’s cross country, and women’s tennis. Marvin Ridge settles for second despite top finishes in volleyball, women’s golf, and women’s cross country, while Piedmont beats out Cuthbertson for third. Conference Standings: Weddington 56.5, Marvin Ridge 54, Piedmont 44, Cuthbertson 43, Sun Valley 41.5, Anson 22.

Two Rivers 3-A: In a battle for the top spot in the conference, Corinth Holders is able to overcome Triton’s championships in volleyball and women’s tennis as well as the school’s second-place finishes in football and women’s golf. Corinth Holders won its own championship in women’s cross country and had second-place performances in men’s soccer, men’s cross country, and volleyball. Triton is just ahead of third-place Cleveland, which finished first in football, second in women’s tennis, and tied for second in volleyball with Triton. Conference Standings: Corinth Holders 66, Triton 64.5, Cleveland 61.5, Smithfield-Selma 57.5, Western Harnett 55, South Johnston 46.5.

Class 3-A/4-A Conference Results:

Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A: In a tussle for the top spot, D.H. Conley leads the way with championships in volleyball and women’s golf, and a share of the conference football title with New Bern, which is a close second. New Bern added a top finish in men’s cross country to its fall campaign, while third-place South Central finished first in women’s cross country and second in men’s cross country this fall. Conference Standings: D.H. Conley 37.5, New Bern 35.5, South Central 27, J.H. Rose 26.5, Eastern Wayne 23.5, C.B. Aycock 20, Southern Wayne 12.

Mideastern 3-A/4-A: Conference crowns in football, volleyball, and women’s cross country earn Hoggard first place after the fall. New Hanover is second, with top finishes in men’s soccer and women’s tennis. Ashley rounds out the top three thanks to championships in men’s cross country and women’s golf. Conference Standings: Hoggard 41.5, New Hanover 35, Ashley 33.5, Laney 32.5, Topsail 21, South Brunswick 18.5, West Brunswick 14.

North Piedmont 3-A/4-A: Lake Norman finishes ahead of the pack after the fall, thanks to top performances in football, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country. South Iredell is second with championships in volleyball and men’s soccer ,while Alexander Central is third with top finishes in women’s golf and women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Lake Norman 312.5, South Iredell 255, Alexander Central 250, Mooresville 240, North Lincoln 220, North Iredell 175, West Iredell 172, Statesville 145.

Northwestern Athletic 3-A/4-A: Watauga is on top after the fall, sweeping the conference cross country championships and also finishing first in women’s tennis. Hickory is comfortably in second, with runner-up finishes in volleyball and women’s tennis. A league title in football and a second-place performance in men’s soccer have Freedom in third after the fall. Conference Standings: Watauga 82.5, Hickory 74.5, Freedom 65.5, South Caldwell 63, Fred T. Foard 59.5, Patton 59.5, St. Stephens 54.5, Hibriten 46.

Class 4-A Conference Results

All Metro 4-A: Leading by a single point after the fall, Page finished first in women’s tennis and men’s cross country, and in second place in women’s cross country, men’s soccer, and football. Grimsley is second despite top finishes in men’s soccer and women’s cross country, a runner-up performance in women’s cross country, and a tie for second in football with Page. Third place belongs to Southern Alamance, finishing first in volleyball and second in men’s cross country this fall. Conference Standings: Page 36, Grimsley 35, Southern Alamance 28, Southeast Guilford 21, Dudley 12.5, Ben L. Smith 7.5.

CAP 8 4-A: A sound fall sports season consisting of second-place finishes in football, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s cross country procure the top spot for Millbrook. Broughton is close behind in second, thanks to top finishes in volleyball, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country. Third place goes to Leesville Road, which tied for second in football with Millbrook and also finished third in men’s and women’s cross country this fall. Conference Standings: Millbrook 43, Broughton 41.5, Leesville Road 32.5, Sanderson 32, Wakefield 32, Wake Forest 26.5, Heritage 26.5, Enloe 21.

Central Piedmont 4-A: Reagan is the frontrunner after the fall, finishing first in women’s tennis, women’s golf, and women’s cross country. Reagan also tied for first in volleyball with second-place Mount Tabor, which finished first in men’s soccer and second in women’s tennis, men’s cross country, and women’s cross country. A conference championship in football has West Forsyth in third after the fall. Conference Standings: Reagan 322.5, Mount Tabor 307.5, West Forsyth 262.5, R.J. Reynolds 235, North Davidson 227.5, Davie 212.5, Parkland 87.5.

Greater Neuse River 4-A: In a fierce fight for first, Garner comes out on top thanks to conference titles in men’s soccer and women’s golf, and a tie for first in volleyball with second-place Clayton. Clayton also finished first in women’s tennis and is ahead of third-place West Johnston, which swept the conference cross country championships this fall. Mecka 4-A: Championships in volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and women’s golf procure the top spot for W.A. Hough. Mallard Creek edges out Jay M. Robinson for second in the conference with a league title in football. Robinson swept the conference cross country championships to solidify its third-place position. Conference Standings: W.A. Mid-South 4-A: Jack Britt is in a favorable position after the fall, leading the conference thanks to championships in football, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country as well as second-place performances in volleyball and men’s soccer. Pine Forest is second, despite top finishes in volleyball and men’s soccer, and second-place finishes in football and men’s cross country. South View settles for third, finishing first in men’s cross country and second in women’s cross country and women’s tennis. PAC 6 4-A: East Chapel Hill is the frontrunner after the fall with a sweep of the cross country championships and a top finish in women’s tennis. Jordan just edges out Riverside for second in the conference, thanks to a league title in men’s soccer and runner-up performances in men’s and women’s cross country. Third-place Riverside finished first in volleyball and second in football this fall. Conference Standings: East Chapel Hill 37, Jordan 30, Riverside 29, Northern Durham 16, Person 16, Hillside 12.

Piedmont Triad 4-A: A formidable fall season, with championships in women’s golf, women’s tennis, men’s soccer, volleyball, and men’s and women’s cross country as well as a tie for first in football, propels Northwest Guilford into first after the fall. Ragsdale just beats out East Forsyth for second, thanks to second-place finishes in women’s golf, women’s tennis, and men’s cross country. Third-place East Forsyth finished second in men’s soccer and women’s cross country. Conference Standings: Northwest Guilford 41.5, Ragsdale 26, East Forsyth 25.5, High Point Central 20.5, Southwest Guilford 20.5, Glenn 14.5.

SoMeck 8 4-A: Championships in men’s soccer as well as men’s and women’s cross country, coupled with second-place finishes in football and women’s golf, have Providence on top of the conference after the fall. Charlotte Catholic is second, finishing first in football and volleyball, and second in men’s soccer and women’s tennis. Ardrey Kell is close behind in third, winning league titles in women’s golf and women’s tennis, and finishing second in men’s and women’s cross country. Conference Standings: Providence 50, Charlotte Catholic 47. Ardrey Kell 46.5, Olympic 27, South Mecklenburg 26, West Mecklenburg 18.5, Berry Academy 11, Harding 4.5.

Southeastern 4-A: Pinecrest is the conference leader with a dominant fall season consisting of championships in men’s soccer, women’s golf, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s cross country. Scotland is second, with league titles in football and volleyball. Lumberton, which finished second in men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country, is in a deadlock for third with Richmond. Conference Standings: Pinecrest 40, Scotland 27.5, Lumberton 23, Richmond 23, Purnell Swett 17.5, Hoke 13.

Southwestern 4-A: Out to a comfortable lead is Myers Park, thanks to conference crowns in volleyball, women’s tennis, women’s golf, and men’s and women’s cross country, as well as a runner-up finish in men’s soccer. Butler and Porter Ridge are in a deadlock for second, with Butler tying for first in football and finishing second in volleyball, and Porter Ridge finishing second in both women’s tennis and women’s golf. Southwest Wake 4-A: Green Hope is the conference leader after the fall, finishing first in women’s golf, women’s cross country, and men’s soccer. Second place goes to Apex, which finished first in volleyball and men’s cross country ,while Panther Creek is third, finishing first in women’s tennis and second in football this fall. Conference Standings: Green Hope 43, Apex 39.5, Panther Creek 37, Holly Springs 31.5, Middle Creek 28, Cary 26, Fuquay-Varina 25.5, Athens Drive 21.5.
