Last Time Out
Despite a tied game at the half and the lead with just over nine minutes to play, Elon was not able to overcome shooting troubles and stop Chattanooga as the Lady Mocs won 66-43 on Monday. Kelsey Harris finished with a career-high seven field goals and 15 points, while Jenifer Rhodes posted 10 points for the second straight game. The Phoenix is now 1-1 in conference play and will resume league games again on Jan. 4 at UNCG.

Scouting Lady Camels
Campbell is coming off a 64-47 win over UVA-Wise on Wednesday, extending the Lady Camels’ winning streak to four games and 7-2 overall this season. The team is led in scoring and on the boards by Kiera Gaines who averages just short of a double-double with 11.9 points and 9.7 rebounds a game. Roslyn Pone is also scoring in double figures with 11.8 points/game. Campbell averages 67.8 points a game and holds a scoring margin advantage of 10.1.

The Series
The Lady Camels own the all-time series between the two schools, 19-10, after having won nine straight from 1984-2000. Since then, Elon has won three of the last five. Last year’s meeting came exactly one year ago in Buies Creek, N.C., where Campbell overcame a nine-point deficit to win by 10, 79-69.

Family Connection
There will be two Coffers on the court in Alumni Gym on Friday night. Elon’s Sam Coffer will play against her younger sister, Campbell’s Amanda Coffer, for the first (official) time. While older sister Sam averages 8.7 points and seven rebounds per game, the younger Coffer is playing 13 minutes a game and posting 4.3 points and 3.1 rebounds.

Looking Ahead
Elon will play its last game before the holiday break on Sunday, Dec. 22. The Phoenix will host the Trojans of Mount Olive in a 2 p.m. tip in Alumni Gym.
