GREENSBORO, NC — The Greensboro College Department of Athletics announced the hiring of Kaci Loeffler as the new Head Volleyball Coach on Thursday afternoon.
“I am excited Kaci has accepted our offer to lead our Volleyball program.” Greensboro College Athletic Director John Trice said, “Throughout the process Kaci’s enthusiasm, passion, and drive to succeed were clear and I am confident she will be a great asset to our athletic department.”
Loeffler is a native of West Grove, PA, and comes to Greensboro College from The Burlington School, in Burlington, North Carolina, where she currently serves as the head volleyball coach and physical education instructor. Loeffler brings a wealth of coaching experience at both the high school and college level.
Loeffler received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Guilford College in 2008 and completed her masters degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May 2012. Upon graduating from Guilford College, Loeffler served the Head Coach at Trinity High School in Trinity, North Carolina before serving as an assistant coach for the Quakers for two seasons. In addition she has served as a coach for both the Sportsplex Volleyball Club and Piedmont Volleyball Club.
“I am very excited to start my head coaching career at Greensboro College, continuing a strong tradition in volleyball excellence established before me.” Loeffler said, “I am grateful to the Greensboro administration for seeing my vision, passion and ability to instill the core values of the school. I look forward to working with the talented student-athletes in the program, sharing and cultivating their enthusiasm for the game and Pride Athletics.”
Loeffler was a two-time captain and three-year starting libero for the Quakers. She earned honorable mention All-ODAC in 2006 and won Guilford’s 2005 Best Defensive Player Award. She graduated from Guilford College ranked fourth in school history with a .948 serve percentage. Loeffler also stood seventh among Guilford’s career digs leaders with 903 pickups in 75 matches. She was a 2006-07 Academic All-ODAC selection and three-time member of Guilford’s Student Athlete Honor Roll. Loeffler also received the Nereus C. English Award from Guilford College in 2008, which is the highest athletic award given out each year.
