HPU Women’s Basketbal’s Stacia Robertson Named Big South Player Of The Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Redshirt-junior Stacia Robertson of the High Point University women’s basketball team has been named Big South Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Robertson averaged 21 points and 11.5 rebounds in HPU’s two wins this week.

Robertson matched her career-high with 28 points on 11-of-14 shooting in Saturday’s 81-73 win over Coastal Carolina. The forward also tallied nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals in the win.

Against Campbell on Thursday, Robertson posted her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Five of her 14 boards came on the offensive end of the floor and helped the Panthers score 19 second chance points in the 64-59 win. Robertson also had a pair of assists, blocks and steals in the win.

On the week, Robertson averaged a double-double of 21 points and 11.5 rebounds while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor. She also had five assists, four blocks and four steals in the two wins.

Robertson’s second career Big South Player of the Week award makes her the Panthers’ first Player of the Week this season. Freshman Kaylah Keys has earned five Big South Freshman of the Week honors this year.

HPU will travel to Charleston Southern and Presbyterian College for two games this week. The Panthers have won seven-straight games and five consecutive road contests. High Point will take on Charleston Southern on Thursday at 7 p.m.
