College Men’s Tennis Results – Methodist 7, Guilford 2

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College’s men’s tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to visiting Methodist University Saturday.
The Monarchs, ranked 11th in the current Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III Atlantic South Poll, improved to 4-3 with the win. The Quakers drop to 1-1.

Methodist held a 2-1 lead after the three doubles matches thanks to Taylor Buchholz and Duncan Miller’s 8-6 win over Guilford’s Erik Meiler and Turner Votipka at first doubles.

Miller, who is ranked 13th in the region, dropped the first set of the first single match with Votipka, 6-0, but rallied to win the next two sets, 6-1, 6-3. Teammate Matt French also went three sets to claim a fifth-singles win over Guilford’s Levi Bruff.
Guilford captured the sixth-single match on Blake Brown’s 6-3, 6-0 win over Austin Dalgis.
