Wske Forest men top Duke, 82-72 and the Demon Deacons went on a 17-0 run against the Devils in the second half…Big Senior Night for Travis McKie, but this also means they have to keep Jeff Bzdelik around as the coach after a big win like this one, right???

The Wake women also win, as they top Pittsburgh 72-58 in the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament…

Reidsville Rams’ women win at Fayetteville, 41-35 and the Rams remain unbeaten…

The Lady Black Bears from Canton Pisgah were winners in the NCHSAA Women’s 3-A West Regional tonight at the SEC/Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center….Pisgah 50-45 over Weddington…Weddington led the game 19-17 at the half….Big night for the Black Bears and they were led by Sheridan Pressley with 18 points and by Brooklyn Allen, who a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds and as I was telling the college scout that was sitting to my left, “That Brooklyn kid can play” and she is not all that tall, but she is tough and she knows how to get position on the right side of the basket and she owns that right block down low….(Count ’em, 8 offensive rebounds for Brooklyn.) Looked like Bob Lowe, former SID at Greenboro College was over by the scorer’s table tonight, and I thought we saw Brian Joura and I know for a fact we saw Wayne Butler and Tom over there on the clocks….

Ogi Overman was out there at the Greensboro Coliseum for the ACC Women’s Tournament tonight and he is now writing for Johnny O’s Sports Carolina Monthly, GO Triad and the O Henry Magazine….Ogi is not going to be a happpy camper/man after that Duke Devils Debacle this evening in Winston-Salem…Ogi used to be one of the biggest Duke fans in the Triad, along with Bruce Mitchell, Tom Butters and others….

Brian Formica from NEWS 2 Sports was out there at the Coliseum with camera in tow….Details his Wednesday Sports Report and probably a heavy dose of Wake Forest men’s and women’s basketball tonight….

Also an ACC Women’s Winner today was Virginia, as the Cavaliers topped Boston College, 74-59….What ever happened to days of Debbie Ryan and Dawn Staley up in Charlottesville??? Those were the good old days, I guess…
